Category 5 Accordion Hurricane Shutters

Having the capability to enclose spacious balconies and lanais, accordion hurricane shutters can offer an unhindered view without the need for intermittent vertical supports. Accordion hurricane shutters are engineered with an interlocking blade system that slides along structurally fastened tracks located at the top and bottom of the opening.

Each blade of the accordion hurricane shutter is suspended from the top track, and is aided by the use of a running gear/wheel assembly.

Engineered and impact tested to meet the Florida Building Code and the Miami-Dade County Product Control Division Code, Category 5 Accordion Hurricane Shutters are convenient to use and provide many of the same benefits as rolling hurricane shutters.

This custom design is a symmetrical uni-track system made of extruded aluminum that is less bulky and obtrusive than that of any other product on the market. Furthermore, the design allows for custom bending of the entire track system for radius curve installations. This enables the company to mount the system to the exact arc of your perimeter without segmenting the track into smaller sections and then piecing and welding them together, to form the perimeter track. In addition, the ease of operation is especially significant on large openings, because of this, a proprietary running gear has been designed specifically for this shutter to provide an extremely smooth operation that allows for 90 degree corners to be turned in as little as three feet.
